In summer they come back, there are those who hate them and those who love them. Although the modern ones, as we know them, were born in Japan. During the Second World War the country had become one of the largest producers of rubber and in the 1950s it began to send flip-flops made with this material to the United States. Japan undertook this exchange to make up for its defeat and the Americans greatly appreciated the proposed shoes, so much so that they began to be used by housewives to take a shower and by children to walk by the pool.
