Having just returned from Formentera, Deborah, a personal travel specialist, has agreed to reveal the secrets of the island and tell us about the most fascinating parts that you absolutely can’t miss.
The first thing she wants to mention is that Formentera is an island for those who love the beach. The sun and sea are fundamental elements here, and the beach can truly be experienced to the fullest.
The most famous beach is Playa de Illetas, which will win you over with the colour of the water, which blends in with the blue of the sky. This is the perfect place to enjoy spectacular sunsets in all of their glory. Deborah recommends getting to the entrance of the beach in the early morning when it is less crowded to avoid long waits. Once you’ve entered the natural reserve for which the beach is named, you can put your towels (or even umbrellas) wherever you want. If you prefer, you can use the beach club (but even here, the chairs and umbrellas are limited so getting there early in the morning is fundamental!).
If you prefer to spend the day somewhere more isolated where the contrast between nature and comfort is even more pronounced then Playa de Migjorn is the place for you. The cliffs meet the sand, making for sheltered coves where restaurants overlooking the sea are the perfect places for a romantic lunch in a wonderful setting. Put something informal yet colourful in your suitcase for the occasion. We were especially excited to learn from Deborah that there’s a restaurant here owned by … Patrizia Pepe!
Obviously, we are biased and, we are, of course, women so we couldn’t help but ask about the shopping. Deborah tells us that Formentera has great folklore traditions. In fact, in the nineteen-sixties, a group of hippies created a commune here. Since then, this island has shared this life philosophy, and it can still be felt today. You can certainly sense this at the La Mola hippy craft market in the main square. It is held every Wednesday and Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. It has everything from crafts to jewellery and costume jewellery, clothing, bags and shoes. All following a similar theme!
Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the nightlife on Formentera, with the main epicentre being the town of Es Pujols. Here there are restaurants and bars for aperitif. The seafront restaurants serve up fish dinners on the late side, and you absolutely can’t miss out on these. This is the perfect time to wear long dresses or caftans with all of their graceful looseness. Open-toe shoes, perhaps with a few pom poms (like those from the Gioseppo line) are perfect accessories. That is all you need! But for a dinner, we recommend a bejewelled sandal, with a high heel, especially if you plan on staying out late dancing.
So what more is there to say? All you need to do is contact Deborah and reserve your next trip!

Here we will show you her photos along with garments we’ve chosen for the occasion.
One of the nicest things in life is waking up with a sea view; the Pinko kimono is the perfect choice, with its floral pattern and the LOVE lettering decoration on the bag: the right mix of summer mood and style.
When it’s time to go around, comfort is the choice. Armani Exchange hat, Patrizia Pepe top and Love Moschino Jeans: you are ready to discover the best Formentera places with the exact tone of blue of the sea!
Scooter time? Here we chose the new Pinko suit, light and fashionable matched with the Liu Jo hat. This garment of the new fall/winter collection is perfect for all seasons: in winter you can easily wear it with a long coat and a pair of black ankle boots!
Finally party time is here! This diamond print on the long Liu Jo dress is feminine and elegant, following your movements while you walk. The lining is shorter, showing your leg’s tan as you walk. Wear a jewel sandal and you are ready for a night out!
