Information about Cookies

This Privacy Policy aims at describing the methods of management of this Site, as regards the use of cookies and the processing of personal data of users/visitors that consult it.

The legal frame of reference is represented by the following Act:

Identification of the simplified methods for the information and acquisition of the consent for the use of cookies dated 8 May 2014 (Published on the Italian Official Journal no. 126 of 3 June 2014).

This information is provided, pursuant to articles 13 and 122 of the Code on personal data protection (D.Lgs. [Legislative Decree] 196/03, so-called Privacy Code) and to the aforementioned Act, to anyone who connects to our site.

Users/Visitors are invited to carefully read this Privacy Policy.

Preliminary considerations

Cookies are small text files that are stored in the folders of the users' browsers when they visit websites. They contain information (indication of the server by which they have been generated or the domain, the duration or the expiry date, a univocal identification code, a univocal value, etc.). The website consulted sends such information to the browser that creates the cookie and stores it in its directories. During the navigation, the cookies regarding the site you are visiting are sent to the server again. This latter uses the cookie value for various purposes, such as, for example: facilitate the consultation of the site and improve the navigation experience; send targeted advertising messages; acquire statistics relevant to the navigation of users, etc.

Cookies, which are usually present in the browsers of users in a very high number, and sometimes with long persistence in time, are used for various purposes: implementing user authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information on specific settings concerning the users who access the server, etc.

In order to be able to regulate these devices in a correct manner, it is necessary to distinguish them. Since there are no technical features that differentiate one from the other, the criterion should actually be based on the aims pursued by those who use them. Even the legislator, in fact, has moved in this direction: in implementing the provisions of the directive 2009/136/EC, the obligation to acquire the prior, informed consent of users has been required for the installation of purposes other than merely technical ones (see art. 1, subsec. 5, lett. a), d. lgs. No. 69 of 28 May 2012, which has amended art. 122 of the Code).

Pursuant to the Italian laws, the use of cookies does not always require an express consent of the user. In particular, the consent is not necessary for the so-called “technical” cookies, that is, those used for the only purpose of transmitting messages over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service that has been expressly requested by the user. In other words, these cookies are necessary for the operation of the site or to perform activities requested by the user.

Among the technical cookies, which do not require an express consent for their use, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see Gen. Act Identification of simplified procedures for the information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies - 8 May 2014) includes, inter alia:

- analytics cookies where used directly by the site manager to gather information, in an aggregate form, on the number of users and on how the same visit the site,

- navigation or session cookies (to log in, make purchases, etc.),

- functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate as a function of a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for the purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same user.

For so-called profiling cookies, on the other hand, i.e. those aimed at creating profiles relevant to the user and use them to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same shown by the user during navigation, the prior consent of the user is required.

The cookies used by this website

The cookies used by this website do not permit acquisition of personal information relevant to the user, nor are they used for profiling activities. Some of them are automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Moreover, the data generated by cookies are used by Arteni as an aid for the activity of analysis and internal monitoring (based on aggregate data) on the traffic generated by users (accesses and pages viewed, in particular), and in order to make improvements in terms of operation and navigation.

Navigation or session cookies (technical cookies)

Navigation or session cookies are technical cookies and are necessary for the operation of the site. In fact, they ensure the normal operation of the website and a better experience of the service offered. Even from the first access, therefore, these cookies allow the site to work properly and allow the user to view the contents on their device (e.g. they recognize the language and the Country, from which the connection is established), thus permitting to efficiently explore the site.

Furthermore, the data generated by cookies are used by Arteni as an aid for the activity of analysis and internal monitoring (based on aggregate data) on the traffic generated by users (accesses and pages viewed, in particular), and in order to make improvements in terms of operation and navigation.

Session cookies are strictly limited to the transmission of session id data, consisting of random numbers generated by the server, which do not permit any personal identification of single users. Session cookies are not stored in a persistent manner on the User's computer and they expire when the browser is closed.

Functional cookies (technical cookies)

These cookies allow the site, based on an express request from the user, to recognize the same upon subsequent accesses, or allow users to navigate as a function of a series of selected criteria  in order to improve the service provided to the same user (for example, by storing the language preferences or previous searches). Functional cookies are not necessary for the site to work, but they improve the quality and experience of navigation. This kind of cookies is updated on the user's browser every time the user goes back to the same site.

Analytics cookies (technical cookies)

These cookies are used to develop statistical analyses on the way in which users navigate and they gather anonymous information on the use of the website (e.g. Google Analytics, Shinystat). The Personal Data Authority considers them to be equivalent to technical cookies: they are used to gather and analyze information relevant to the use of the site by users (e.g. number of pages visited, pages clicked on, etc.), which cannot be used for commercial purposes. The results of these analyses are processes anonymously and only for statistical purposes.

Social Network Cookies

These cookies are necessary to allow the social account of a user to interact with our site, but they are not installed through this website. They are used, for instance, to allow the user to show appreciation and share it with his/her social friends. Social network cookies are not necessary for the navigation and are entirely managed by the relevant social platforms.

Use of First-Party Cookies

These are cookies installed by Arteni, who is the manager of this website that the user is visiting.

Session cookies are used to permit an efficient exploration of the site. Session cookies are strictly limited to the transmission of session id data, consisting of random numbers generated by the server, which do not permit any personal identification of single users. They are not stored on the user's computer in a persistent manner and are automatically deleted when the browser is closed.

Use of Third-Party Cookies

Third-party cookies are set by a website other than the one the user is visiting. This is because each site can contain elements (such images, maps, sounds, specific links to webpages of other domains, etc.), hosted on sites other than the one that is being visited. Therefore, if a user visits a site and a different company sends the information through that site, we have a third-party cookie.

Arteni uses a few services of third parties, which may install their cookies, in a totally independent way and outside Arteni's control; it is possible, therefore, that the user be sent third party cookies, which are outside the control and the possibility of examination of the hosting site. Accordingly, in these cases, since the cookies are set by the third parties (with no intervention from Arteni), the data controller can only be the third party, insofar as Arteni is a mere technical intermediary. In compliance with the indications given by the Privacy Authority - order dated 8 May 2014 - the user is invited to acquire the information of any cookies as may be used by third parties in performing their services directly on their webpages.

For example, and without limitation, this website avails of the following third-party services: - Google Analytics (Google Inc.) - Google Analytics a web analysis service provided by Google Inc..
