Ispirati a Red Sparrow

We failed miserably when, this year, we tried not to be too jealous of Jennifer Lawrence’s outfits in her new film “Red Sparrow”; our attempt turned out to be a real mission impossible. The role played by the young American actress is the one of Dominika Egorova, a Russian ballerina that because of an injury is forced to abandon her carrier and instead start working as an operative of the Russian intelligence, precisely as a “Sparrow”. She goes through a hard training and faces difficult tasks, demonstrating strength and decisiveness. She represents a woman that doesn’t stop when challenged by life, she is able to fight for herself and for her ill mother, helping her to pay for medical cures. 

While filming “Red Sparrow” Lawrence had the chance to wear many outfits that we personally found extremely beautiful. Every single detail of her look is impeccable, both when she’s wearing casual clothes, and when she’s wearing elegant dresses. We were inspired by the film’s costumes, and, therefore, we decided to share with you some outfits we created with our shop’s products.

The main colours are red and black which are both very powerful. Red is the colour of the year, Chiara Ferragni confirms it. It’s a good idea to keep it in our wardrobes because it gives liveliness to colours like grey and brown during the fall/winter season and stands out when worn with a good sun tan during spring and, of course, summer.

Jennifer Lawrence wears this red dress on a fancy occasion, the wide neckline and the radiance of the dress make it obvious that the event requires an elegant attire. We’d like to create something different, more casual, to wear on a normal day. With the help of one of our customers we will show you our choices. Our customer, in fact, will be our model for a day and she will give us the chance to see how our products from the new collections look like when worn by one of us. 

Our first choice is a bold red tailleur by Silvian Heach. It is part of the brand’s new collection and it will perfectly suit you if you want to pull off a more audacious style while at an appointment during the day. It can also turn out to be a great evening outfit if you wear it with a fancy top and a wider neckline. The peculiarity of this tailleur is undoubtedly the print, the grey and white tigers with piercing yellow eyes cover both the jacket and the trousers. The gaudy colour gives importance to the tiger print and guarantees your look to be unique. Our model wore it with a pair of black stilettos from Liu Jo’s new collection, very simple but effective. We also added a black faux fur coat by Silvian Heach, which has a voluminous fur and is relatively long as it covers the knee. Last but not least, we chose a GUM black pochette with lateral studs to complete our outfit. The bag isn’t too small or too big, its sizes make it a comfortable accessory for any event.

This red dress is part of Patrizia Pepe’s new collection. At a first glance it looks simple but the design is actually unusual because of the oversized sleeves and the neckline on its back. The distinctive element of the dress is the golden necklace on the back that gives light to it, which we decided to match with a golden pochette by Anna Cecere, very small and perfect to carry around the essential on a pleasant evening. The shoes are bronze high heels by Marc Ellis, an evergreen, also enriched by a thin strap that closes around the ankle. This is the perfect look for a cocktail in the city!

We are also big fans of Jennifer Lawrence’s spy total black look. This past year has been extremely colorful, and it looks like colours (such as red, electric pink, green etc.) will not abandon us during the next season either. However, black is a strong colour, it expresses boldness and it’s always trendy no matter what.

We appreciated the simplicity of Lawrence’s black outfits, therefore, we decide to show you this example of total black look for next fall. The trousers are part of Guess’ new collection and they are high-waist. We chose them because high-waist trousers and jeans are among this year’s top trends thanks to their ability to highlight the best parts of your figure and create the perfect silhouette. These trousers can easily be worn with any top. The one we decided to use with Guess’ trousers is a Patrizia Pepe sleeveless mixed silk top with a V neckline, some volant and a tiny golden Fly accessory typical of the brand: all elements that give a touch of femininity to the top. As for the outerwear the one chosen for the picture is a faux leather jacket of the same brand, Patrizia Pepe, which contributes, just like the trousers, to the perfect shaping of the figure. Its zips are golden and we matched them to the golden details of the shopping bag by Liu Jo, a very useful bag that allows you to carry with you anything you might need throughout the day, and to a golden Saucony sneaker. If you’d like to add a tiny bit of madness to your black outfit we suggest to look in your Saucony box. In fact, starting this year, Saucony sneakers come with fringes to attach to your shoe, which will then make them look like proper slip-ons!

The same outfit will look just as good if worn with this Patrizia Pepe double breasted faux leather trench-coat. The fabric that is usually used to make a common trench-coat was substituted with faux leather, a change that gives the coat and the outfit a more audacious style. 

Black tailleurs never go out of style, for this reason we decided to show you this one as well. The one worn by our customer is blu, however, the black version of it can be found on our website too. It is a piece of Patrizia Pepe’s new collection and it has the peculiarity of being asymmetric. It caught our attention precisely because of its unique forms. The sleeves are long and have to be slightly crinkled, while the trousers are baggy. Since the colour of the tailleur is basic we have full permission to go crazy with our choice of colours for our footwear. The shoes we picked are Liu Jo’s silver ankle boots with heels.
